    Dog-Friendly Vacation Spots

For those of us with four-legged family members we adore, we usually don’t want to leave them behind when we go on vacation. But it can be tough to find vacation spots that are dog-friendly!

If you need some great recommendations for your next family vacation, dog included, start by checking out these great places in the U.S. below.

    San Diego, California
San Diego, California is a dog-loving place and you’ll find some great restaurants that will welcome your dog. Have a blast exploring the 24-hour Nate’s Point Off-Leash Dog Park at Balboa Park and visit the dunes of Fiesta Island.
    Key West, Florida
Key West has a small but awesome beach for dogs, the Key West Dog Beach. You and your dog can have fun in the waves or rent a kayak and enjoy paddling on the water together.

    Bar Harbor, Maine

You and your pup will love exploring the great outdoors in this rocky, cliff-lined coastal town. Surrounded by Acadia National Park, which boasts more than 50 square miles of mountains, lakes, hiking and biking trails - not to mention picturesque coastal views - it’s a fantastic place to vacation with your pet. Bonus? There’s a free, pet-friendly shuttle to Acadia National Park and other popular sites.

    Finger Lakes Region, New York

If you love wine, you’ll love vacationing in the Finger Lakes region of New York. And, yes, you can take your dog with you! Many of the wineries allow dogs (just call ahead to check each winery’s specific policy) and there’s also plenty of quality pet-friendly vacation rentals.

    Stowe, Vermont

Stowe is a beautiful mountain resort town in Vermont featuring miles of hiking trails for all skill levels, as well as some dog-friendly campsites. When you and your dog aren’t off on an outdoor adventure, enjoy taking a leisurely stroll through the quaint village to experience its unique shops and restaurants.

Smugglers Notch State Park is a must-visit and welcomes leashed dogs. Mills Riverside Park in nearby Jericho provides some gorgeous meadows your dog will love exploring.

Now that you have a few fabulous, dog-friendly vacation spot ideas, be sure to check out these two incredible resources for all your vacation planning needs and have fun creating an amazing itinerary:
