Honeymoon Ideas for the Adventure Seeking Couple

So you’ve worked out where you want to go on your honeymoon, but not exactly what you’d like to do while you’re there. Sound familiar? Lots of people have an idea of the perfect destination. It makes it easy to book your trip. But then what? Beyond spending a lot of quality time together, chances are that you’d like to have a few honeymoon adventures while on this romantic vacation. Here is a look at a few of our favorite honeymoon adventure ideas.

Culture Climbs

Many honeymoon hotspots happen to be fairly close to ancient ruins of previous civilizations. Why not check out a map, do a little research, and plan a day trip to some ruins. Make sure they’re safe to visit, of course, and consider hiring a guide to lead you. But beyond that, why not take a look at some culture and history in this fairytale location?

Resist the Resort

We understand that sprawling resorts with pools, bars, and 1,000 thread count sheets are enticing. But let’s be honest for a moment. You can get all of that on any given vacation in the states. Instead, why not consider staying in an Airbnb? You’ll likely get the chance to talk to the home-owners, and they can point you in the direction of more authentic experiences.  Not only are you very likely to save cash, you’re also going to have a far richer experience.

Helping Hands

Did you know that the travel and tourism industry has a whole division built around helping others? If you and your new spouse are into philanthropy and making an impact on the world, this could be a great and very rewarding honeymoon experience. You’ll work with local organizations to help do community service in your destination. It’s called social tourism, and you could be surprised by all of the things that you can do through these programs!

Language Immersion

This one is scary, and we get it. On top of planning a wedding, we’re asking you to learn a new language? Who has time for that? But trust us, if you want to travel abroad, taking the time to learn even a few phrases native to the place where you’ll be staying is a chore with immense returns. Even a few phrases show the locals that you respect their culture, and this will open the doors to more authentic experiences and adventures. So find a local close, or order a language program online. Learn the language with your sweetie, and make it your own adventure!

One last honeymoon idea? We know that your wedding ring is new, exciting, and shiny. But we suggest leaving it at home during your honeymoon adventure. Instead, slip on a QALO silicone ring from our Forever Collection. They’re safer, lighter, just as beautiful, and perfectly functional for your adventures.
